Although it can be difficult, you need to learn how to be motivated and how to stay motivated every day if you want to achieve your goals.
I know how hard it is because I sometimes struggled with motivation when I repaid my $ 40,000 debt in just 7 months.
And one of the most important questions I get about my debt repayment history is how I could make an effort and stay motivated to pay all of my debts.
Paying off my debts was extremely difficult – I won't lie about that!
I took on several part-time jobs to make extra money.
I had to wake up early in the morning to work on them before going to my regular day job, and then I stayed up late to work on my part-time jobs.
And to put all my extra money in my debt, I had to stop spending money on many things that I enjoyed in life.
Even though paying my debts so quickly was one of the hardest things, it was worth it.
It was very important to find ways to stay motivated during my debt settlement, and I'll share some of the things I've done in this article.
Finding motivation and then learning how to motivate yourself can be a difficult task for everyone. It is difficult to try to stay on budget, achieve your savings goals, save for retirement, and more. And many people have problems staying motivated.
The motivation you need to work on your goals is often the easiest to find. However, it can be more difficult if you don't see your progress, take care of yourself, surround yourself with the right people, and more. These are the times when you need the most motivation.
Motivation is important because it can help you keep an eye on the goal, even if you want to stop. Motivation will help you continue to work hard towards your goal, even if it seems impossible. Motivation is what keeps you going so you don't give up.
Without motivation, most people would very easily give up on a goal. That is why it is so important to learn how to stay motivated.
Regardless of whether your goal is financial, professional, family, lifestyle, or something else, there are many ways to stay motivated so you can achieve it.
How to stay motivated – 12 tips to help you achieve your goals.
1. Think about the reasons why you are doing this.
An important factor in staying motivated is to remember why you are trying to achieve your goal. If there is no reason, it would be very difficult to stay motivated.
You should imagine what your life will be like when you have achieved your goal, why you are trying so hard to achieve it, and so on. A little daydreaming can do a lot from time to time.
If your goal is debt repayment, your reason is likely to be that you can stop living a stressful lifestyle from paycheck to paycheck. Just keep dreaming what a debt free life would look like!
2. Do it visually.
Visualizing your goal is a great way to find motivation.
If your financial goal is shown in front of you, it can get a lot more real. It is also nice to be constantly reminded of what you are working towards.
Here are several ways to make your financial goal visible:

Whether your destination is a vacation, a desired item, or something else, a picture reminds you of what you're working towards.Start a blog. Blogging helped me a lot with my financial goals. 3. Read and watch financial media.
Money is all around you and it really isn't as boring as you might think. I read something about personal finance every day and not because I have a personal finance blog, but because I want it!
There are several ways to stay up to date on the financial media. You can watch news, listen to financial podcasts, read personal finance blogs, read financial books, and more.
I recommend this because you may read stories from others who are in a similar place to you, learn new ideas, get amazing money advice, and so on. I think reading financial blogs is a great way to stay motivated because I have surrounded myself with others who are also interested in improving their financial lives – and I am learning so many new ways to live this way !

4. Set smaller goals in between.
Setting smaller goals for yourself while working toward your bigger goal can help you stay motivated as it helps you keep an eye on your goal. Smaller goals feel more accessible, which can increase your confidence if you achieve them.
Smaller goals can also be a good way to challenge yourself. It can be a long way to make it a game and competition with yourself rather than a task.
For example, if your overall goal is to pay off $ 24,000 of debt in two years, you may want to seek $ 1,000 in debt repayments each month. This seems a lot more achievable than the $ 24,000 number, and this can help you stay motivated while challenging yourself.
5. Track your progress.
If you want to learn how to stay motivated with your financial goals, check your progress from time to time. You can check in daily, weekly, or monthly, depending on what type of destination you have and what works for you.
It is a good idea to keep an eye on your progress as it can tell you what you need to do to achieve your goal when you are behind or when you need to make changes.

You should always make sure that your goal is what you want and that it is realistic. It is therefore important to do this step.
7. Be kind to yourself when you learn to stay motivated.
Every now and then you could get off track or miss your goal. If this happens, don't be too hard on yourself.
This is a very important step to learn how to stay motivated with your goals, as many people pull themselves down if they get off track or fail to make the progress they hoped for.
Things are happening, and instead of being negative, you should analyze what is stopping you from making progress toward your goals and see what needs to be changed to prevent it from happening again.
8. Think about how you will feel in the future.
It can be difficult to imagine your future when you are just learning how to pay off your debts, keep to a budget, achieve a savings goal, save for retirement, and more.
A good way to stay motivated is to think about how you will feel as you progress towards your goals, and definitely think about how it will feel when you achieve your goals.

9. Reward yourself if you are successful.
Whenever you achieve one of your smaller goals, you may want to try rewarding yourself so you stay motivated.
A reward does not mean that you cheat on your progress or fall off the car. There are many ways to reward yourself – you just need to find out what works for you and stay on the right track at the same time.
A small reward is one of the best ways to learn how to stay motivated, as it gives you an idea of how good it feels when you reach your goal. Rewards also boost your confidence.
10. Stop comparing yourself to others.
You will achieve your goals differently than someone else working on the same goal. After all, everyone has different circumstances and limitations, and everyone starts at a different point.
If you compare yourself to others, you can easily lose motivation because you believe that you are not working as hard as others. They have no idea what is going on in their lives, whether they have help, how long they have worked on their goal, etc.
Concentrate on yourself and your goals.
11. Surround yourself with people who motivate you.
One of the reasons why blogging has helped me stay motivated to pay my debts is because I have met other people who are also working towards big goals and some people who have already achieved them. It helped me to recognize that debt repayment was possible and I learned some great tips.
The other bloggers I met motivate me to this day and we have become good friends.
If you want to learn how to stay motivated, I recommend finding others who work on similar goals. You can find bloggers, social media influencers, friends, family, etc.
Share your stories and ask them for advice, guidance, and compassion. Remember, as I said in the last tip, don't try to compare your progress with that.
12. Remember to still enjoy your life.
If you learn how to stay motivated with your money-related goals, you will most likely still need to find ways to enjoy your life.
If you are too hard on yourself, you may lose motivation and may even be stressed.
Having financial goals doesn't mean you have to be boring. You can still enjoy life, do many of the same things that you normally do, and so on.
Remember to still have fun and enjoy life!
